Products for Agents

Most software was built for humans: screens, buttons, menus, dashboards, and workflows that assume a person is clicking through each step. AI agents use software differently. They need tools they can call, instructions they can read, state they can preserve, outputs they can inspect, and workflows they can continue.

Products for Agents is inAi's category for that shift. We do not mean that inAi sells AI agents. We mean that agents are becoming a new kind of software operator — and they will need products designed for how they work.

A human can look at a screen, interpret a layout, remember what happened yesterday, click through a sequence, and decide what to do when something changes. An AI agent needs a different surface. It needs clear capabilities, structured inputs, predictable outputs, persistent context, and instructions that make the product usable without relying on visual guessing.

That creates a new product problem: software must increasingly be understandable not only by people, but also by the agents acting for them.

Products for Agents does not mean inAi sells agents or internal workforce systems. It means we build products, tools, interfaces, documentation, workflows, memory systems, and execution surfaces that AI agents can use as operators.

The intended operator matters. A product belongs here when an agent or agent-controlled workflow can use it meaningfully end to end: call the right tool, pass structured information, understand the result, preserve state, recover from errors, and continue the work.

The question is not whether a product contains AI. The question is whether an AI agent can operate it.

The web and most business software were designed around human attention. A person reads the page, recognizes the button, copies data, checks the result, and carries context from one step to the next. That model breaks down when an agent is expected to operate software repeatedly, safely, and at scale.

Agent-facing products need different assumptions. They should expose actions clearly. They should make inputs and outputs structured. They should explain capabilities in a form agents can read. They should preserve enough state for long-running work. They should make permissions and review visible where the workflow requires control.

This is not only a developer concern. If agents become a real operating layer for work, they will need software built for them in the same way humans needed graphical interfaces, mobile apps, APIs, and cloud tools in earlier eras.

An API can be part of an agent-ready product, but it is not the whole product. Agents need to know what a tool is for, when to use it, how to call it, what input is expected, what output means, how to recover when something fails, and how to continue work after the first call.

That usually means combining several surfaces: callable tools, structured commands, schemas, agent-readable documentation, examples, prompts or instructions, state, memory, logs, workflow boundaries, and permission layers where actions need control.

The goal is not to label every small integration as a product. The goal is to build meaningful capabilities that agents can use as part of real work.

The first market for agent-ready software is still human-led. Developers, teams, companies, and power users choose tools, configure them, give them to agents, and supervise the results.

Over time, agents may become better at discovering, comparing, and selecting tools under human or organizational goals. That is a long-term direction, not a claim that autonomous agents already buy or select inAi products today. But it changes how software should be designed: products should become legible to agents, not only attractive to humans.

Beyond the public Open Source work, inAi is developing internal tools around agent memory and agent-oriented code workflows. These systems are not being presented as public products yet. They are internal and future-reveal candidates: part of how we explore what agents need when they write, inspect, reuse, and continue work over time.

The direction is clear even before every product is public. Agents need memory. They need state. They need code tools designed for their way of operating. They need software that helps them continue work without losing context at every step.

inAi's stance on general intelligence is that AGI may be more likely to emerge from systems than from one isolated model: models, agents, tools, memory, perception, execution, coordination, feedback, and environment working together.

Products for Agents is the software side of that stance. If agents become part of intelligent systems, they need tools they can use, memory they can rely on, instructions they can understand, and workflows they can operate. The system matters — and software is part of the system.

Agent-ready software depends on questions that are still developing: how agents decide, when they should ask for review, how they preserve context, how they use tools, how they recover from mistakes, and how they coordinate across longer work.

That is why Products for Agents naturally connects to inAi's Research layer, especially work on agentic decision systems, limits of intelligence, AI for knowledge creation, and business operations. Research helps us understand the systems. Products turn the useful parts into software.

When agents can operate software, trust is not only a legal or security topic. It becomes a product-design question: what can the agent call, what state does it keep, what result does it return, what actions require review, and where should the workflow be free enough to create value?

inAi does not believe every AI product needs the same control model. Agent-facing products should be open where openness creates value and controlled where control creates trust. The right design depends on the task, the stakes, and the user or organization behind the agent.
